When it comes to India, Apple is likely to add 12 filters to help users weed out spam messages. The tech behemoth has rolled out its second developer beta for iOS 16 and based and one of its most striking features is the revamped interface of messaging. This is seen as Apple’s way of telling the world that it is serious about streamlining its SMS-based text messaging.
Apple users in India will be able to classify spam text and not just this they will also be able to extract details such as train and movie tickets using Siri. The popular technology portal, TechCrunch, has ascertained that Apple has strengthened its SMS filters especially those related to junk messages. The company already has SMS filters in place for nations such as Brazil and India.
The filter extensions for messages in 12 sub-categories within Promotions and Transactions on iOS 16. The sub-categories are Reminders, Health, Finance, Weather, Public Services, Rewards, Carries, etc. The update will help developers to use these filters to classify messages that are not personal into these categories.

The brand is also planning to add support for data back on the LTE/4G network via iOS 16 for iPhone and iPad users. Based on the release notes of iOS 16 Beta 2, Indian iPhone users will be able to get updates about events such as train and movie ticket bookings through Siri in message threads and calendar inbox. Moreover, the report also stated that the users in the US will be able to flag the spam messages to carriers with its new Report Junk feature which is available to only select carriers.
